Privacy statement · 22 October 2026

Your planner is yours.

Senpai is made for children, teenagers and young adults. That is why we keep it simple: your data is on your own phone, we do not sell anything on, we show no ads and we do not track you. Below is exactly what does happen.

Who is responsible

Senpai is published by [name of the publisher], [address], the Netherlands. Questions about privacy: privacy@agendasenpai.com. We are the controller within the meaning of the GDPR (General Data Protection Regulation).

What stays on your device

Your timetable, agenda, tasks, notes, grades, archive, study blocks and your hero's settings are on your own phone or tablet. They only leave your device through the backup and the projects below, and through the features you use to share something yourself (such as a note as PDF).

What goes to the Senpai server

  • Backup. If the backup is on (the default, can be switched off under Profile), the server keeps a copy of your data, linked to a random device number and a recovery code. That way you can get everything back on a new device. The backup contains no email address, phone number or password: Senpai has no account.
  • Projects. If you take part in a project with your class, the name you chose yourself, your hero, the tasks, the messages and the files of that project are on the server, visible to the members of that project.
  • Homework help. If you ask a hero in the app for help with a subject, your question and the conversation so far go through the Senpai server to an AI service (Claude by Anthropic), together with the name and story of the hero and, if you have planned them, the tests and tasks for that subject. Your name, school or other details do not go along. The server stores nothing of the conversation; it only counts how many questions you ask per day. Do not put names, addresses or photos in your question.
  • Technical data. The server briefly records when your device connects, to be able to counter abuse. We use no analytics or advertising services and no tracking cookies.

The server is in the European Union. Only for homework help does your question go to the AI service; otherwise no data goes to parties outside the EU.

What for and on what basis

We use your data only to make Senpai work: show your agenda, plan your study time, keep your backup, make projects with your class possible and answer your questions to a hero. The basis for this is the performance of the agreement you enter into with us by using the app (article 6(1)(b) GDPR). You switch notifications on your device on yourself and can always switch them off again.

Children

Senpai is also for children from the age of nine. Are you under sixteen? Then ask a parent or carer to read this statement with you and to agree to the backup, the projects and the homework help. Because Senpai has no account, no ads and no profiles, we collect no more than is needed to make the app work.

How long we keep it

The backup is kept as long as you use the app. If you choose "Start over" under Profile, we erase the backup on the server immediately. If you choose "Delete my data on the server", we delete everything that belongs to your device, including your messages and files in projects. Projects you share with others then pass to another member.

Security

All connections are encrypted (https). The backup can only be reached with a key that is on your device, or with your recovery code. Keep your recovery code to yourself, like a password.

Your rights

You may always know what data we have about you, have it corrected or deleted, and take it with you. Much of that you can do yourself in the app: under Profile you find "Export my data", "Start over" and "Delete my data on the server". If something does not work, email privacy@agendasenpai.com; we reply within a month. If you disagree with how we handle your data, you can file a complaint with the Dutch Data Protection Authority (Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens).

Changes

If anything in this statement changes, we put the new version here with a new date, and we announce it in the app if it is something important.
